Will Parkes opens bowling for Spark’s new ‘Meet the team’ story series

Meet keen cricketer Will Parkes, a trainee account controller at Spark Accountants who is the first subject for the firm’s ‘Meet the team’ series of stories.

Will joined Spark in September last year after leaving Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield, where he emerged with an impressive set of A-level grades.

Alongside his role at Spark, Will has now started his final Level 4 AAT studies with The Association of Accounting Technicians, which he hopes to complete in the next six months.

He will then move on to study for his professional qualifications with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Will, a keen opening bowler with his village cricket team, said: “The best thing about working at Spark is helping to solve client queries, as I enjoy applying different skills to all aspects of my role.

“This allows clients to focus on their own work rather than spend their time stressing on an issue I can help them with.”

Will, from Tamworth, who’s also an avid film buff, added: “The most challenging part of my job is studying whilst working, although after two years of being locked inside after finishing A-levels, I didn’t expect it to be easy!”
