Challenge 

Story Comms needed a better understanding of their financial performance, enabling them to confidently make decisions about the future. 

Solution 

By reporting quickly and efficiently with seven days of the end of each month, we were able to give Story Comms everything they needed to know about company performance, measuring against sector-specific KPIs to understand profitability and relevant benchmarking.  

With this foundation laid, Spark developed a system to forecast future performance and understand what was needed to hit targets. A rolling forecast was used to predict future results – and most importantly, cashflow – on a monthly basis.  

This allows the directors to make informed decisions as the company has grown, highlighting any potential issues – such as a reduction in cashflow or profits – in advance and plan ahead.
